Lantern Lodge is a licensed hotel so breathtaking that it convinced Rugby estate agent Sean Newman to travel 217 miles to value it.

Fine & Country’s Sean Newman, director of Newman Property Services, is convinced the next buyer of the property will come from London or overseas.

He travelled four hours to see the property, so he could be the one who finds the next owner.

Lantern Lodge, now on the market with Fine & Country Rugby, offers 14 bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool.

The agents say the hotel, which is near Salcombe in Devon, represents a fantastic development opportunity; subject to planning permission, the future owner of the resort could convert the hotel into ten two and three bedroom holiday lets.

Sean said the next owner will be very lucky.

He said: “I just know the next buyer of this property will be from London or overseas.

“Fine & Country have the resources to access these markets.

“Our national and international magazines, and our Park Lane showroom can access the London investor market like no other agent can.”

He added: “It’s beautiful.”

The current owner says she will miss everything about life at Hope Cove, particularly waking up to the sound of crashing waves.
