The search is on to find Rugby’s Young Photographer of the Year, with this year’s theme being ‘Our World is Beautiful’.

Once again, the Rugby Advertiser is proud to launch the Rotary Young Photographer competition.

The three age categories are: Junior - seven to ten years old; Intermediate - 11 to 13 years old and Senior - 14 to 17 years old.

Winners of each category will receive £25 and will automatically entered to the Regional District Final. Last year Hillmorton schoolgirl, Emma Tilley, won the Junior Rugby category and the Regional District Final.

The closing date for entries is Friday, November 27, so get snapping soon!

Completed entries can be handed into the Rugby Advertiser Office or collection can be arranged.

A panel of professional photographers will judge entries.

Terri Morgan, Assistant Governor, from Rotary Club Of Rotary Saturday Breakfast, said last year’s competition attracted entries from extremely talented photographers.

She “Last year we had some outstanding entries and it was very close in the end.

“I believe the theme this year provides the opportunity for entrants to truly use their imagination and skills and I would encourage people in the respective age groups to give it a go.”

The competition aims to encourage young people to experiment with photography, use digital or traditional methods of photography, show interpretation of their chosen topic and express their ideas through the medium of photography.

The are three stages of the competition. The first is a local heat organised by local Rotary clubs.

Age group winners of local heats are then entered into a district competition.

Competitors must include their date of birth on the application form
