The M6 has been closed in both directions between junctions one for Rugby and two for Coventry as emergency services deal with a serious collision.
The collision happened shortly after 11.30am today (Wednesday) on the southbound carriageway.
The air ambulance has been called and is currently in attendance (pictured) and West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics were also on the scene.
A spokesperson for the Ambulance Service said: “It appears to be quite a serious crash. One patient has left the scene in an ambulance but crews are still there with the others.”
Warwickshire Police added that the closure is likely to be in effect for some time and advised drivers to “avoid the area if possible.”
