Seven arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following death of Warwick man

Four adults and three juveniles from Warwick and Leamington have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following an incident connected to the death of a pensioner.

They are a 16 year-old girl, a 15 year-old boy, a 23 year-old man, an 18 year-old woman, two 17 year-old boys and a 15 year-old girl.

Police were called at about 8.50pm on Tuesday to a report of a man having collapsed.

There is believed to have been an interaction between the man and a group of people prior to his collapse.

The man was taken to Warwick Hospital by ambulance but was declared dead at 9.35pm that evening.

Chief Insp Michael Naughton said: “The man’s next of kin have been being kept informed and our thoughts and sympathies are with them at this tragic time. We are still working to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and the seven people are assisting us in achieving this. The family of the deceased continue to be supported by specially trained police officers.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who has any information and ask them to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 357 of November 18, 2014.”
