Bad weather looks set to cause travel disruption on the trains this evening (Monday).

London Midland has posted an announcement on its website warning passengers to expect disruption tonight.

London Midland, which runs trains through Rugby station, said: “Severe storms and gale force winds are likely to cause disruption across the London Midland network on Monday evening and overnight. The worst weather is expected to be south of Birmingham.

“If you need to travel today, we recommend you complete your journey by mid-evening. To make this as easy as possible, Advance tickets for 23 and 24 December may be used on any London Midland departure on Monday, not just the service specified on the ticket. We will also have extra staff on hand at stations to assist you where possible.

“You can check your journey before you leave - or on the move - at or by following the @LondonMidland Twitter feed.

“Apologies for any disruption to your journey and thank you for your patience.”
