A THOUSAND tickets sold by a Rugby charity shops have raised £1,000.
The British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical Store in Rugby’s High Street launched the raffle in September last year.
Between September and December the charity shop sold 1,000 tickets.
The winner was picked in the store just before Christmas by the Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Gwen Hotten.
The winner won a hamper full of luxury food and drink.
Assistant manager Joanna Stewart said: “It was part of a nationwide campaign to raise money for research into coronary heart disease. We sold 1,000 tickets so it did really well.”
The store is looking for volunteers and donations of furniture and electrical items.
