Shoppers showed their support for Rugby’s high street by supporting Small Business Saturday.
Rugby MP Mark Pawsey and Rugby First managing director Aftab Gaffar demonstrated their commitment to Small Business Saturday by visiting Rugby town centre small businesses on Saturday, December 5.
In what was a busy morning, they met and spoke with a number of businesses including Purple Rose, Sass Clothing, House of Cards, Tool Box and Rugby Tap.
Small Business Saturday UK is a national, grassroots campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
Mr Gaffar said: “Small businesses are of vital importance to the town centre and wider economy and Small Business Saturday provides the opportunity to celebrate and support these businesses.
“In the busy Christmas period, why not take the opportunity to visit the town centre and discover some of the small businesses the town has to offer, along with the unique gifts, services and excellent customer service they offer?”
Mr Pawsey said: “Small businesses really are the life and soul of our local economy.”
