Rugby hair salon The Adorable Hairdressing Co. hosted a unique scissor-themed promotional event in the Clock Towers Shopping Centre recently.

Visitors had their silhouette portrait cut by one of the world’s leading silhouette artists.

In his long career, Charles Burns has cut many notable portraits, including two of the Queen.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the event, Mauresa Philips, owner of the The Adorable Hairdressing Co. said, “When Charles Burns cuts a portrait he uses his scissors to capture the real personality of someone and that’s what we aim to do when we cut hair.”

“The Adorable Hairdressing Co. is more than just a name, it’s something we try to live up to in everything we do. The adorable way of doing things is about having fun and we thought a silhouette artist would be a fun way to promote our salon.” said Mauresa Philips.

Organisers said Charles was a big hit with shoppers.
