Applications are now being received for the first year of Bilton School’s Sixth Form where students will be able to choose from a 24 courses on offer.
Headteacher Patsy Weighill said: “We are delighted that we are able to offer such a broad curriculum for our students. They are very positive and excited about the prospect of being involved in designing our new post-16 centre that will be opening in September 2012 in our current humanities block.”
The new sixth form will provide four teaching rooms, a large common rooms, dining area and resource centre.
Mrs Weighill said: “We have been planning this development for almost two years and have made staffing appointments that will enable us to hit the ground running with high-quality teaching from September.”
The school has received a number of applications from students who are pleased they now have the choice to stay on at the school.
Ruth Dutton-Coles, who is leading the new venture, said: “I was particularly pleased to read some of the comments.”
