There will be free fun for all the family in Rugby to celebrate St George’s Day.
A magnificent St George astride his charger along with his trusted knights will be one of the star attractions as the town centre celebrates on Saturday April 25.

The event, organised by Rugby First, is one of Warwickshire’s biggest and most popular St George’s Day celebrations and takes place on High Street and Sheep Street between 11am and 3pm.
Children will be able to enter the ‘Knight School’ to find out what it was like to be a knight, have their face painted, be entertained by Punch and Judy or simply laugh at the antics of the court jester.
Among the other attractions will be birds of prey, wood craft, music and DJ, static motor cycle display, a tea cup ride, bouncy castle, street entertainers, free treats and ‘Wally’ - always a big favourite with the little knights and princesses. Managing director of Rugby First Aftab Gaffar said: “Events like this are extremely popular, especially with families and children.
“Not only do they provide a great day out but they also raise the profile of the town centre, increase footfall and encourage spend which means it is a ‘win-win’ for businesses and customers alike.”
He added: “In addition to the children’s fancy dress and town crier competitions local businesses also dress their shop fronts and compete in the annual window dressing competition which provides a wonderful backdrop for the whole event – as well as some friendly rivalry to see who will pick up the coveted trophy from the Mayor of Rugby.”
