IMPROVEMENTS have been made at a nursing home in Hillmorton that was ordered to raise its care standards or face further action.

The Care Quality Commission issued a formal warning after inspectors visited the Willow Tree home in School Street, run by Culpeper Care, earlier this year.

Their latest review states standards are now being met.

Concerns about the management of medicines were raised after an unannounced visit from inspectors.

They found residents were not receiving their medication on the day it was due, among other problems.

Jaki Blackwell is its new care manager and enjoyed a welcome evening with residents and relatives last Wednesday.

Huw James, director of the company that runs the home, said: “We are really pleased that we’ve been able to provide excellent care at Willow Tree and that this will now be built on by Jaki, who is leading our new management team within the home.”
