Shops in Rugby town centre will be opening their doors for a fabulous street party next Thursday.
Rugby’s first ever 1st Thursday event takes place on March 5 with around 25 of the county’s top acts entertaining for the ‘Alive After Five’ event.
Among the entertainers will be Becky and the Dove, singer songwriter Eve Singleton, The Rattletones, and Wax Myrtle’s Special Structure.
Robert Low, who has brought all of the musicians together, said: “There will be around 25 acts playing during the evening – on stage and around the streets.
“It’s going to be a very special event.”
He said Rugby has a thriving music scene.
“It’s wonderful to be able to bring so many of the area’s top performers together,” he added.
The entertainment will be focused at four ‘hot spots’ – Jubilee Gardens in Regent Street, in the market place next to the Clock Tower, at the end of Castle Street, and inside the Clock Towers shopping centre.
Shops will stay open until 8pm and visitors will also have the chance to experience a street food market.
