Students’ pants aid fair trade farmers

‘Pantreprenuer’-savvy students from Warwickshire College have battled it out at a national final of a competition about marketing ethically-sourced underwear.

The Pantastic 5 team travelled to Old Spitalfields Market in London last week for the PantrepreneurSHIP 2013 - in which they pitched their business concepts to a panel of business experts.

The students made it to the final after raising more than £800 by selling their underwear in the qualifying round, competing against 16 other colleges.

Twenty-five per cent of proceeds from the competition will go to the Pi Foundation, which supports the fair trade farmers in India who produce the cotton for the pants the students sell.
