Super slimmer Kelly launches new group

When Kelly Turner looked at pictures of herself on a Mediterranean cruise, she knew something had to change.

It was August 2014 and Kelly had no idea she had put on so much weight until she saw the photos.

She said: “I hated every single one. I was enormous.

“I knew the size of clothes had been getting bigger and bigger, but I rarely looked at myself in the mirror and tried not to think about it.”

Kelly used to cry herself to sleep and felt like an embarrassment to her family.

She desperately wanting to address the problem before she hit 40, so she joined Rugby Ladies’ Running Group to do the 0 – 5km beginners’ course.

But it was joining Slimming World that really changed her life.

Kelly, a mother of three, said: “I’ve made lots of friends and dropped from a size 24 to 12.,”

The super-slimmer lost 6 stone 7 over the 18 months and is now encouraging other people to make changes

“I believe wholeheartedly that the Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan is such a healthy way to shed the pounds,” said Kelly.

“My food habits have changed now so I know that I will stay slim for life. Slimming World also encourages you to become more active and you can work towards body magic goals.”

This year Kelly has ran her first 5km race, started an adult ballet and tap class and joined a gym. She also has no problem keeping up with her young son, Joseph, four.

In May this year, Kelly went on another cruise with her family and this time she didn’t feel like she needed to hide away from the photographers and liked the photos that were taken.

She’s now a Slimming World consultant and opens her first group at Rugby Workers’ Club, Oliver Street, at 7pm on Monday, September 12.
