An enterprising group of crafters have joined forces to open a shop in Rugby for the Christmas season.

Under the banner ‘Hand Crafted Delights’ some twenty creators will be selling their wares in what would otherwise be an empty shop in 7-8 North Street, next to NatWest Bank.

The shop will open its doors on Saturday December 6, and will be open for business seven days a week until Tuesday December 23.

The shop’s opening is well-timed with Small Business Saturday - an initiative which encourages people to ‘shop local’ and support independent shops.

This follows the success of the group’s first venture, when they rented an empty shop in the Clock Towers Shopping Centre for a week in November.

Organisers include Ellen Boylin, well known in the area for her hand-made jewellery, Vikki Reeve, also specialising in jewellery, and Heather Groocock, whose husband is a wildlife photographer and who makes greetings cards and aprons featuring his work.

A range of greetings cards, embroidered work, mosaic pictures on glass, jewellery, knitted toys and baby wear, dresses and shirts for toddlers, wood crafts and gifts created from re-cycled vinyl records will be on offer.

The shop opens from 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4pm on Sundays.
