A talented stunt man has been rubbing shoulders with some of Hollywood’s finest actors in his latest blockbuster appearances.
Sam Durrani, who lives in Rugby, has been firing an AK47 with one hand from the back of a motorbike as part of Gerard Butler’s new film, ‘London Has Fallen’.
The movie is the sequel to ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ and will hit the cinema screens in March next year, where Sam’s impressive stunts can be seen in the trailer.
Sam, a professional stunt man and fitness instructor at Lutterworth Sports Centre, said his love of stunts began at an early age.
“I was always interested in stunts through watching so many movies as a child, but when you are younger you just assume it’s the actors doing everything,” he said.
“When I was in my teens, I started watching a lot of martial arts movies. I was already training in kickboxing and gymnastics and an able swimmer, so I would imagine I was in the movies and it just snow balled from there.”
Sam also met Matt Damon while working in Tenerife on the new Bourne Identity movie - which is yet to be named. The movie will be released in July next year.
Sam has worked with actors Brad Pitt, Idris Elba, Samuel L Jackson, Christoph Waltz, and directors Ridley Scott, Paul Greengrass, and Christopher Nolan.
In order to stay in shape, Sam said he trains at every opportunity and he is aiming to set up in his own personal training business from November. He hopes to be working from various gyms in and around Rugby.
