The NUT (National Union for Teachers) will be holding a national strike on March 26 which may cause some Warwickshire schools to close.

The easiest way to find out if your child’s school will be closing is to sign up to the Warwickshire County Council’s school closure service.

The service will automatically issue a text message to you when your child’s school closes. It takes just a couple of minutes to sign up via text and up to three schools can be selected by each user.

To sign up all you need to do is text SCHCLOSURES, followed by the schools’s DfE number and On to 07950 081082.

To find out your child’s school DfE number either speak to the school or go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/schoolclosures

This service will inform you whenever a subscribed school has to close, for instance, as the result of bad weather.

Subscriptions to the service expire at the end of the summer term, so you will need to sign up at the start of September each year to continue receiving updates.
