A group of Year 7 students from Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College have been awarded a nationally recognised qualification which focuses on team work, communication and citizenship.
All students involved in the CVQO led course received a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship. As part of the course, they completed a range of activities which including outdoor learning at Ryton Pools, sailing at Draycote Water and volunteer work with the Canal Trust.
Alison Bearpeark, Year 7 Transition leader, said: “I have seen the positive outcomes for students and the development of their confidence and self esteem. Every one of them has benefitted from this course and I would like to thank the tutors from CVQO and also Sam Cheetham from Avon Valley for supporting the students during this experience.”
