PLENTY of festive cheer and Christmas spirit was on display when Eathorpe was illuminated on Saturday.

Mary Rhodes, presenter of the BBC’s Inside Out show, opened the event which started with the synchronised switch-on.

The village hall held a fair and Santa was kept very busy.

The lights will be on every evening over Christmas until the Twelfth Night Beer Festival in the village on January 6 and 7.
