The weekend when history came to life

MEDIEVAL knights rubbed shoulders with bowmakers, musicians ands purveyors of centuries-old scents at a major historical event at the weekend.

The Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on the Fosse Way near Radford Semele hosted the Living History Fair.

Aimed at people involved in historical re-enactment as well as the general public, the event drew craftsmen and costumiers from as far afield as the Czech Republic.

Visitors ran into characters in costume ranging from a Franciscan monk to a top-hatted Victorian gent. There was also a 16th century lute player, Helen Chambers from Busy Mole Music, clothed in period dress.

The fair will not be returning, with future events held in Leicestershire.
