A pensioner’s cashcard was stolen and £500 withdrawn from his account yesterday (Tuesday).

It was taken from his pocket in the car park of Aldi supermarket in Hillmorton at around 12.30pm.

Two Polish men in their early 20s, both around six foot tall, obtained the 78-year-old’s PIN number while he paid for goods.

They then asked him for directions and showed him a map of London before taking the card.

The man, who lives in Bilton, said: “It made me feel rotten and I want to warn other people about the scam. I was trying to help them and they took my card.”

Witnesses should call 101.
