Thieves cut through padlocks and security bars to get to a cricket club’s sit-on mower.
The incident happened at around 4.30am on Monday September 21 at Newbold on Avon Cricket Club.
Nearby residents were disturbed by the noise and a member of the club called the police.
The thieves had taken the £750 mower by the time the police arrived.
Dave Cheney, Secretary at Newbold Cricket Club, said: “The mower was purchased second-hand and was worth about £750, although its value to a cash-strapped club like ourselves is infinitely more as we don’t have the funds to replace it.
“Unfortunately this is not the first time we have been targeted in this way and it is a constant drain on our resources to repair the damage caused by vandals.”
