Third man arrested from Rugby for a social network post which could encourage trouble

POLICE have arrested a third man in Warwickshire following a posting on a social networking site.

Alan James Beard, 22, from Rugby, was arrested on Saturday under Section 46 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 on suspicion of encouraging or assisting offences believing that one or more of them will be committed

He has since been charged and released on bail to appear before Nuneaton Magistrates Court on Friday this week.

Detective Inspector Zaid Khan said: “This is the third person that has been arrested for using the social media to encourage criminal disorder. “Warwickshire Police regularly monitors social networking sites and anyone using them to incite criminal activity of any kind will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.”

On Friday and teenager from Leamington and a man from Rugby were also arrested on suspicion of the same offence.
