Three fire crews called to car dealership fire in Rugby

Three fire crews battled a fire at a car dealership in Rugby.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call last night at around 11.43pm reporting that there was a fire at a car dealership on Abbey Street.

Two fire crews from Rugby went to the scene and confirmed that the building was used for car sales and repairs.

The fire was located in the roof space and a further fire crew from Southam was called in to help.

Two cars at the dealership also caught fire.

Fire crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, ladders and hydrants to deal with the fire.

A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The fire took place at Abbey Car Trading Limited, which is a single storey building. The fire was put out and crews had all returned to their stations by 7.25am this morning.”
