Seven bus services across Rugby Borough could have journeys stripped back - here's how to have your say

A spokesperson for the company said the changes, which look set to come into effect around February 22nd - 23rd, are focused on making services more reliable.

Phil Medlicott, managing director at Stagecoach Midlands said: “We are aiming to improve the reliability of services in February and want as many people to provide their comments as possible”

“We want people to see this as a positive change to help combat the worsening congestion we see on our roads.

"The journeys which we are considering removing carry only one or two passengers.

"While we don’t want to inconvenience anyone it doesn’t make sense to run buses capable of carrying around 60 people for so few."

Passengers are being asked to visit the company’s website at www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/midlands/your-views-feb-2020 and leave their feedback.

The deadline for leaving feedback is January 5.

The full list of services which may be affected:

Route 3

They are planning for the 18.58 from Newbold to Hillmorton to only run as far as Church Street on Monday to Friday.

The 19.29 from Hillmorton to Rugby would be removed on Monday to Friday because it’s not well used.

Route 3A

They are planning to remove the following journeys because they say they are not well used:

20.13 Town Centre to Wentworth Road - Monday to Saturday.

20.24 from Wentworth Road to Town Centre - Monday to Saturday.

Route 4

They are planning to remove the 0801 Clifton Road to Brownsover journey on Saturdays.

The 07.45 and 08.16 journeys from Brownsover to Lawford Lane will start from Rugby North Street at 08.17 and 08.48 respectively on Saturday (not serving between Brownsover and the town centre).

Route 63

They are planning to completely revise the timetable to 'improve reliability'.

The 16.08 schooldays only journey from Stockton to Leamington would be removed.

The 14.59 schooldays only departure from Leamington would no longer run via Rugby High School which would be covered by a journey on service 3A journey.

Route 86

They are planning to completely revise the timetable to 'improve reliability'.

The route around DIRFT would run as follows:

South Celtic Way, Parklands, Danes Way, DIRFT III turning circle, A5, A428 and the reverse.

Route 96

They are planning to adjust the amount of time given to journeys in the morning and afternoon commute, 'to make them more reliable'.

The 18.31 from DIRFT III to Rugby would be removed on Saturday because it’s not well used.

Route D1

They are planning to remove the following journeys:

23.10 from DIRFT III to Daventry - Monday to Saturdays.

19.10 Elliott's Field to North Street - Sundays.
