A special tree has been planted in Dunchurch to mark the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Institute in England and Wales.

Dunchurch and Thurlaston’s Women’s Institute planted the oak tree at a ceremony last Tuesday.

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes is the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK, with over 212,000 members in more than 6,500 WI’s.

Members from Dunchurch and Thurlaston WI are pictured above at the ceremony.

They meet at 7.30pm on every second Thursday of the month in the WI Hall, Southam Road, Dunchurch.

New members are welcome to go along to meetings.
