Jamie Taylor owns the haunted chapel shed and has spent hours perfecting its spooky appearance.

He said: “We bought the house from a woman who had used the chapel for religious retreats for over 20 years.

“We didn’t know what to do with it at first to be honest but then we had this idea. I bought all sorts of eery church bits online to do it up and we’ve had a few Halloween parties in there!

“My house was built in the 1970s and the chapel is the only original building left on the land, as the original thatched cottage burnt down.

“It is very spooky in there at night with all the candles lit - some people don’t want to go in!”

He explained there were around 3,000 entries to the competition and Jamie’s creation has made it to the final 32.

There are eight categories of sheds to vote for and The Chapel is listed under the aptly named ‘unexpected’ category. Voting will close at midday on June 8, with the overall winner being announced later in the summer.

Jamie added: “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind to be honest. The producer messaged me out of the blue and asked if I’d be interested in entering so I thought why not?

“I wasn’t really too bothered at first but now I’m in the final 32, I want to win!”
