Two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Somerset Place, Cawston

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two burglaries and an attempted burglary at neighbouring properties in Somerset Place, Cawston.

The burglaries occurred between 10.30am and 11am yesterday morning (Thursday).

One burglary occurred as the occupant was asleep in her bed upstairs after finishing a night shift. She was awoken by a noise downstairs and called the police when she realised someone was in her home.

She later discovered the thieves had stolen a TV and jewellery from the property.

Officers arrived and found that a second property in Somerset Place had also been burgled and a third property damaged by the offenders attempting to break in. It is not yet known if anything was stolen from the second property.

Police Community Support Officers carried out house to house enquiries to establish if any witnesses had seen the offenders.

One neighbour saw a silver Ford Focus speed away from the addresses containing three white males wearing tracksuit style clothing.

Another witness reported seeing a silver Ford Focus turn out of Cavendish Road, left onto Lawford Lane and towards Lawford Road.
