Two men injured and arrested after motorbike crashes into a post in Lawford Road

Two men involved in a motorbike collision in Rugby during the early hours of Saturday morning have been arrested on suspicion of theft.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at around 1.45am on Saturday at the junction of Seabroke Avenue and Lawford Road in Rugby.

The collision is believed to have occurred when a yellow off road motorbike, being ridden by two men, failed to stop at the junction of Seabroke Avenue with Lawford Road and collided with a post.

One of the men is believed to have suffered a fractured pelvis as a result of the collision and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.

The second man suffered minor injuries.

Both men, who are aged 22 and 25 years old from Rugby, were arrested on suspicion of stealing the motorbike and were released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Prior to the collision the motorbike is believed to have travelled from the gyratory system in Rugby, onto Bilton Road, then turning right into Bloxham Gardens which turns into Seabroke Avenue.

The motorbike failed to stop at the junction with Lawford Road, where the collision occurred.
