Undateables star Justin Coling from Rugby appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show this morning (Friday).
Justin, 41, appeared on the ITV daytime show under the topic ‘don’t stare at me because I’m different’.
He was the first of three guests to talk to host Jeremy Kyle about what his life is like due to his looks, as part of a special edition of the show.
Justin, who appeared on the Channel 4 programme The Undateables last year, has neurofibromatosis type 1.
It is a rare condition which means tumours grow on nerve tissue on his body - and in Justin’s case, on his face.
He’s had 100 operations with even more to come.
Speaking on the show about growing up, Justin said: “I didn’t think there was ever any need to say ‘Justin you’ve got this condition’. I went in and out of hospital and was poked and prodded by the doctors. I just knew I was slightly different.
“I didn’t know any different Jeremy, it’s life.”
Justin said that growing up he would be teased but never bullied at school. He admitted that people do stare at him, although he says it doesn’t bother him.
Justin said: “We live in a world where if you’re different, you stick out like a sore thumb.
“I’m not your everyday looking person, it’s to be expected.”
Justin said that walking round Rugby people wave to him, even if he doesn’t know them.
He said: “In my town people see me and wave, I don’t even know them!”
Justin said that one day he would like to be married, be happy, have lots of fun and lots of money.
He added: “What else would you want in life than to be happy?”
