Army officers have blown up a wartime German bomb near Hatton after it was discovered in a village garden.
The unexploded German incendiary device from the Second World War was safely blown up in a field in Shrewley on Tuesday afternoon.
Warwickshire Police called in the Royal Logistics Corps bomb disposal after discovering the device and specialist officers began work on the controlled removal.
It was then set off under a controlled explosion to ensure nobody was hurt.
A police spokesperson said: “The device was dug up in a garden and taken to a nearby field for detonation.”
PC Smith-Tyler pressed the button to detonate the device and shared pictures of the explosion online.
