The meeting will provide a short briefing of members’ roles and futures in public services in the face of Goverment cuts.

The event will run from 12.30pm to 1pm.

Tony Foster, Warwick district union advisor, said: “After a three-year pay freeze on all council staff, the one per cent offer from the Government is not accepted and in order to get back to table negotiations a large percentage of Warwick District Council staff will be on strike.

“This will affect the district council’s car parks and sports centres.

“Other council services will be delayed and Unison hopes that this day of action will illustrate to the Government that all council staff are finding it difficult to live with today’s high cost of living and they desperately need a higher percentage wage increase than the last offer.”
