UPDATE: Brownsover car “was dragged into street and set alight”

Fire crews were called to Brownsover just before midnight after a suspected arson attack on a car that had been dragged into the street.

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service received 15 emergency 999 calls alerting them to a car fire on Grizedale.

One fire engine from Rugby was sent.

The crew confirmed one vehicle was on fire and a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel extinguished the fire.

The crew were committed at the incident for 20 minutes and the incident was left with the police. The car is believed to have been a blue Vauxhall Zafira and had been dragged into the street and set alight.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which may help them with their inquiries.
