The car was responding to an emergency call at 12.10pm on the A45 Stretton on Dunsmore when the woman was hit. She has been taken by land ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and her next of kin have been informed.

The police officer who was driving was not injured.

Dunchurch Road has been closed by Warwickshire Police following the crash, and the road will be closed for the forseeable future.
