WE’RE all losing sleep when the clocks go forward this week but testing your smoke alarm tomorrow (Sunday) could save you from losing a lot more.
According to Warwickshire Fire and Rescue you’re more than four times as likely to die in a fire without a working smoke alarm, but only half of people who own one say they take the time to check it regularly.
Cllr Richard Hobbs, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for community safety, said: “Everyone soon notices when a clock stops ticking, but it’s not so easy to be sure that your smoke alarm is still in working order. Test your smoke alarm regularly to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.”
