A CRICK musician is in the running to win a rather cheesy competition.

Paddy Wex, of High Leys, has made it through to the final five shortlisted musicians in the British Cheese Board’s hunt for a national anthem for cheddar. It’s now down to the public to choose which of these will be named the official British Cheese Board Cheddar Anthem.

Paddy, who used to be the assistant headteacher at Lawrence Sheriff School before his retirement, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be shortlisted. I’m extremely fond of cheese and the prospect of a year’s supply, well how could anybody resist that?”
