Stanford Hall, Rugby

Saturday night - one night only
Stanford Hall was the backdrop for yet another explosive night of fireworks on Saturday night.
Now in its 11th year, the popular Firework Champions event came back to Stanford Hall.
The event, organised by MLE Pyrotechnics in Daventry, attracted thousands of people armed with chairs, rugs, picnics and bottles of fizz.
The dry and warm weather certainly seemed to attract more people in than last year.
As the sun went down there was a lovely atmosphere and plenty of pre-show entertainment for young and old.
The firework displays began just after 9.30pm, with Flashpoint Fireworks, Milford going first.
Team one made an impressive start to the competition with a huge and very loud ten minute display which left echoes bouncing across the countryside. Team two went next - F1 Pyrotechnics Limited, Wineham - with an even better performance and the best one in my opinion.
Sadly there were technical difficulties with team three - Spitfire Pyrotechnics Limited, Coventry.
The organisers quickly rectified the problems and they carried on but their display didn’t seem as big and bold as the others.
Following the three displays, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite by text vote.
It’s a bit of fun and I voted for team two who were announced as the winners.
The best bit of the night was by far the main display at the end by organisers MLE Pyrotechnics.
A beautiful, magical and explosive way to end the night!
The event will now continue at other venues throughout the summer.
