A CONCERT is being held in Newbold tomorrow (Friday) to mark the launch of a Christmas Tree and Snowman Festival.
The switching on of the lights takes place at St Botolph’s Church and features the Woodland Singers and Rugby FM presenter Jason Moss.
The theme for the festival this year is nursery rhymes and there are more than 60 displays to enjoy.
Janet Haynes MBE, who is on the church committee, said: “People have gone to a lot of trouble and the trees look really good.
“The Humpty Dumpty display is just one of the fantastic creations. There’s also a remembrance tree where people can leave the name of a loved one for £2.”
Tickets for tomorrow’s concert, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £6, which includes a glass of wine and savouries. She said the festival, which runs from December 2 to 11, is for people of all ages. Admission is £2 and accompanied children go free.
Opening times are Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 5pm; Wednesday 2pm to 4pm; Wednesday, December 7, 2pm to 4pm; Saturday, December 10, 1pm to 5pm; Sunday, December 11, 1pm to 5pm. Tickets are available by calling (01788) 579109. For more information telephone 01926 632258.
