This year the tour includes some new and updated routes as well as a dozen appearances for shoppers at Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s, ASDA, The Swan Centre and Elliott’s

Field.

Each year Rugby Rokeby Lions Club, a group of volunteers that are part of the worldwide Lions movement Lions Clubs International, help Santa with his visit and collect for local charities. Last year the club raised more than £12,000 which has been distributed over the course of 2017.

John Nelson, president at the club, said: “Every year he helps us raise thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes and I know that the people of Rugby have a tradition of giving during the tour that will continue this year. 2016 saw us break the Christmas sleigh fundraising record and we are aiming to try and top that this time round, with some new routes for Santa and some extra appearances during the month at our shopping centres.”
