Myton nurses are appealing for people in Rugby to join them for a walk in the moonlight.
They will be swapping their uniforms for cowboy boots for the annual Moonlight Walk in September.
This year’s sponsored walk will start and end in the grounds of Warwick Castle and the charity is hoping to raise £65,000 , which is enough to fund two Myton nurses for a year.
Walkers can choose from routes of five or eight miles around Warwick and Leamingto,n and can enjoy plenty of Wild Western style entertainment in the castle grounds before the event.
Myton’s chief executive Kate Lee is hoping people will sign up to walk alongside the Myton team.
She said: “This year staff form across Myton will be putting on their cowboy hats and boots to take part in the Moonlight Walk and raise as much money as possible for Myton.
“From nurses to physiotherapist and senior managers, we will be taking part on the night and this year we need to raise enough money to fund two Myton nurses for a year – but we can’t do it without your help.
“We would love you to join us on the night, walk alongside our team and help us raise as much money as possible for Myton.”
The evening will be hosted by Free Radio breakfast show presenters JD and Roisin and there will be lots of themed entertainment including a band, warm up session before walkers set off at 9pm.
The three Myton Hospices has three hospices in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby and need to raise over £8 million a year in voluntary donations to keep its services running.
