CLIFTON’S new Community Speed Watch Team have met for the first time in the village.

On Saturday PCSO Sharon Bailie-Crabtree and members of the new Clifton Community Speed Watch Team (CSW) met on Rugby Road, Clifton upon Dunsmore to carry out their own high visible speed gun checks.

All members of the CSW have completed their training at Rugby Police Station and have been keen to get out by themselves to carry out their own speeding detections.

During the afternoon everyone had a go at speed detections and several motorists were found to be going over the 30mph limit

Warning letters were sent out to motorists exceeding 33mph by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Drivers are also being warned that the team will occasionally be joined by a police officer to issue fines and fixed penalties.
