Warwickshire people can nominate their NHS hero

THE ambulance service that serves Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth and surrounding areas is encouraging people to vote in a new NHS Heroes scheme.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “It could be great clinical care, a life saving procedure or just a few words of comfort at the right time.

“What constitutes a hero is different for everyone. But one thing that is for sure is that many patients think the NHS staff that come to their aid in their hour of need are exactly that - heroes.

“At West Midlands Ambulance Service and throughout the rest of the NHS in the region, we have staff who dedicate their lives to making sure that each and every patient receives the very best care.

“We don’t always get it right, but the hundreds of letters of thanks that come in suggest that the actions of our staff often make the difference.”

He added: “Do you know someone who went the extra mile to provide exceptional care? Show them how much you appreciate them with a nomination as your NHS Hero 2012.”
