West Wing star Rob Lowe helps Warwickshire and Northamptonshire air ambulance

HOLLYWOOD star Rob Lowe dropped in at the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance’s headquarters at Princethorpe to meet the crew, hear more about the work they do and see the state-of-the-art helicopter.

Famous for his roles in St Elmo’s Fire and TV’s The West Wing, he said: “The air ambulance provide a vital service and saves so many lives each year. It was fantastic to see it close up and meet the crew who provide a high standard of care and the team who work so hard behind the scenes.”

During his visit Lowe was presented with a special air ambulance flight jacket with “Star Supporter” printed on the back. He was in Britain to launch his autobiography at the Hay Festival.

A run in aid of the charity will take place on Sunday at Stoneleigh Abbey from 10am. To register phone 08454 130999 or visit the link on the top right.
