Rugby Borough Council has announced changes to waste collections and other council services over the Christmas and New Year period.

There will be no garden waste collections during the weeks beginning December 23 and December 30 2019.

Rugby council said this two-week suspension is to allow black rubbish and blue-lid recycling collections for all households.

Black rubbish and blue-lid recycling collections due on Wednesday December 25 will instead take place on Saturday December 21.

In addition, black rubbish and blue-lid recycling collections due on Thursday 26 December will take place on Saturday 28 December instead.

All other black rubbish and blue-lid recycling collections will take place on their normal day, including on Wednesday 1 January 2020.

The council offices at the town hall will be closed to visitors from 5pm on Tuesday December 24 until 9am on Thursday January 2.
