Whitnash mayor speaks in support of Leamington Rotary Club’s Trees of Light campaign for the Myton Hospices

At the switch-on event last month for the lights on of one of the two trees which stands outside St Margaret’s church in Whitnash, Cllr Falp spoke of how the campaign is a way of remembering and paying tribute to lost loved ones.

She said: “

I have, since the Tree of Light, was first lit in Whitnash, supported this fundraising for good causes.

“Nearly all the eldest generation of my family have passed away over those years with my father being one of the last having passed away this year.

“Having the tree close to home is a wonderful way to feel close to them all and to remember them at this festive time of the year.

“The Christmas message is one of giving so I thank all who support this and encourage others to do so.”

The Trees of Light enable people to remember loved ones who will not be with them this Christmas.

The lists of names will are displayed in the church and library in Whitnash and outside the town hall and in the Royal Priors in Leamington.

The Myton Hospices cares for up to 1,000 patients and their families each year at hospices in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby, and out in the community with their Myton at Home service.

People can make donations to the campaign using the brochures available at locations and stores around Leamington and Whitnash, the adjacent form published each week in the Courier and online.
