The winner of this year’s Christmas Window Dressing competition has been announced.
The Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Richard Dodd, chose Abraxas China & Glass shop in Regent Street, Rugby, to take the title after its impressive festive display.
Helen Sparrow, owner of Abraxas, said the staff had worked hard to showcase their talents.
She said: “We were very proud to hear that Abraxas China & Glass has won the Rugby Christmas Window Dressing competition.
“Hours of planning, preparation and effort are put into the Christmas windows on the part of our staff, and we are delighted that their efforts have been rewarded in winning this highly contested event.”
Runner up was Flowers by Pauline in Regent Street.
The competition, run by town centre management company Rugby First, encourages independent retailers to create interesting and eye-catching displays.
Aftab Gaffar, managing director of Rugby First, said he was keen to encourage people to shop local this Christmas.
“This is just one of the ways Rugby First is helping to get people into Rugby town centre and enjoy the diverse range of shops and cafes,” he said.
“Don’t forget that there is free car parking in the council’s town centre car parks from noon until January 3.”
