World War One Day demonstrates Leamington’s role in providing medical aid

More than 400 people who went to the Leamington Looks Back history festival’s World War One Day at the Pump Room Gardens in Leamington on Saturday were able to experience what a casualty station of the period was like and see one of a few original First World War vehicles, the Maudslay Lorry, which was built in Coventry.

There were also many stalls, displays and demonstrations which emphasised the Pump Room’s role during and after the war of aiding with the rehabilitation of soldiers.

The festival runs until July 6. Remaining highlights include the Regency Ball at the Pump Room tonight (June 27) and Victorian Sunday at the Pump Room Gardens on June 29. For full details, visit www.leamingtonlooksback.co.uk
