Young Bill helps the Old Bill

Bill Feasey used his initiative to gain a cub’s badge – he wrote to Kenilworth police and asked how he could help them in their fight against crime.

It won the 10-year-old a tour of the town’s police station, including the old cells, and gained him a community challenge badge.

He was shown around by Pc Ed Doxey, who said: “Full marks to him for his initiative.

“He showed a great sense of community spirit and he’s a credit to the cubs.

“And he helped the police by distributing crime prevention booklets around his area.”

Bill’s mum Jane, of Swift Close, said the youngster, who attends St Augustine’s Catholic School, is a member of the Abbey Matthew Cub pack, which meets at Castle Farm.

But she added he had shown no interest in becoming a policeman.
