Letter of the week: we need a bus station

While I have no objections to the proposed pedestrianisation of the town centre I would prefer money to be spent on providing a proper bus station for the town. We seem to be lagging behind places like Daventry which is a smaller town but has a modest facility for passengers and bus drivers. We have a great opportunity in Rugby as there is a vacant site at present a car park (Old Bingo Hall) opposite the Town Hall Evreux Way. This could be connected to the Clock Towers complex. My view is that more buses will be coming into the town with the housing expansions on its periphery. This would I hope also encourage bus companies like National Express and Flight Link to call into Rugby and provide links to the major London airports and Birmingham.
