I refer to the comments made by Rugby Borough Council with regards to complaints made to them of overcharging by some taxi drivers in Rugby (Advertiser last week).
I would like to ask the question have the complaints received been proved?
If so I believe the council has strict rules and regulation to deal with this.
If proved is it the council’s policy to allow the offender’s to carry on driving and to apply for new licence plates?
I do believe the council and the hackney taxi drivers association should work together on this to weed out the offenders, as reports like this are very damaging to the majority of drivers out there like me that offer a good professional service to the public of Rugby.
So let’s get rid of continued offenders as they have no place in our trade, but we need the support of everyone concerned.
